    πŸ” UCI vs LEEB β€” Which Hardness Testing Method Shou πŸ” UCI vs LEEB β€” Which Hardness Testing Method Should You Choose? Two portable hardness testing methods. Two different measurement principles. But which one is right for your application? Choosing between UCI and Leeb isn’t simply a matter of preference. The right method depends on the size, mass, geometry, surface condition, and material of the component being tested. πŸ”Ή LEEB β€” Large, Heavy, Fast Screening
Well suited for massive components, castings, forgings, and quick hardness checks where sufficient mass and rigidity are available.
πŸ”Ή UCI β€” Local, Small Areas, Complex Geometry
Ideal for localized measurements, welds and heat-affected zones (HAZ), small components, and areas that are difficult to test using rebound methods. βš™οΈ What really matters?
Surface preparation, component thickness, support conditions, material properties, and measurement requirements can all influence the results.
Neither method is universally better. The best choice is the one that fits your testing task. πŸ‘‰ Swipe through our carousel to explore how both methods work, compare their applications, and understand the key factors that influence your choice. πŸ’¬ Need help selecting the right hardness tester or probe?
ADELIX specialists can help you choose the most suitable equipment and configuration for your specific application. Contact ADELIX β€” let’s discuss your testing task! #adelixcompany #hardnesstesting #ndtinspection #portablehardnesstester
    HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PORTABLE HARDNESS TESTER? HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PORTABLE HARDNESS TESTER? πŸ” A portable hardness tester is more than just a device that displays a hardness value.
In real-world inspection, what matters is how well the instrument adapts to different materials, geometries and measurement conditions β€” and how effectively it helps you work with the results. That’s why we’ve highlighted 10 key features that really matter in practice: βš™οΈ Two measurement methods in one instrument β€” UCI + Leeb
πŸ”„ Interchangeable probes for different applications
🎯 Calibration for the actual material
πŸ”© Measurement of steel, cast iron, aluminum, bronze, brass, copper and more
πŸ“Š Multiple hardness scales
πŸ“ˆ Statistics instead of a single measurement
πŸ’» Visualization and analysis of results
πŸ’Ύ Memory and full measurement traceability
πŸ–₯ PC software for data management and reporting
πŸ”¬ Accuracy suitable for demanding industrial applications With ADELIX ADL-DU110, hardness testing becomes more than taking a reading β€” it becomes a complete process of measurement, analysis, documentation and control. πŸ‘‰ Swipe through the carousel to see what you should consider when choosing a portable hardness tester.

    PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE | FROM MEASUREMENT TO MONIT PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE | FROM MEASUREMENT TO MONITORING What if you could detect changes in equipment condition before they lead to unexpected downtime? Predictive maintenance starts with reliable measurements β€” but its real value comes from collecting, analyzing and tracking data over time. What should you monitor? β–ͺ️ Vibration velocity β€” overall machine vibration condition.
β–ͺ️ Vibration acceleration β€” higher-frequency vibration and potential bearing-related issues.
β–ͺ️ Frequency spectrum β€” patterns associated with mechanical faults.
β–ͺ️ Measurement trends β€” changes in equipment condition over time. ADL-M15: MORE THAN A VIBROMETER. ADELIX ADL-M15 helps turn individual measurements into a structured equipment inspection process. Designed for convenient daily operation: πŸ“± Android Application β€” convenient mobile tools for working with measurement data in the field. πŸ“ Route-based Inspection & NFC β€” organize regular inspection routes and identify predefined measurement points. πŸ“Š Data & Event Logger β€” record measurement data and events to help track equipment behavior over time. πŸ“ˆ Monitoring Mode β€” observe changes in vibration condition and identify developing deviations. πŸ”— Bluetooth & USB-C β€” additional connectivity options for working with measurement data. From a single measurement point to systematic condition monitoring, ADL-M15 brings greater structure to industrial maintenance. MEASURE. RECORD. ANALYZE. ACT. Hardness Control After Heat Treatment: One Measure Hardness Control After Heat Treatment: One Measurement Is Not Enough πŸ” After quenching and tempering, a hardness value of 58 HRC is obtained. The result meets the specified range of 56–60 HRC. But does one compliant measurement confirm uniform hardness throughout the entire component? Not always. βš™οΈ Hardness can vary across different areas due to component geometry, cross-section, material hardenability, heat-treatment conditions and cooling. Consider this example: 58 / 58 / 57 HRC βœ… All three measurements are within tolerance. But after expanding the inspection: 58 / 58 / 57 / 56 / 54 / 53 / 57 / 59 HRC Now the picture changes. ⚠️ Two adjacent values of 54 and 53 HRC may indicate a localized area of reduced hardness. The result should first be confirmed by repeat measurements and then investigated further. This is where individual readings become a hardness map β€” measurements linked to specific locations on the component. πŸ—ΊοΈ A hardness map can help identify:
β€’ localized deviations;
β€’ differences between sections;
β€’ correlations with component geometry;
β€’ recurring patterns within a production batch. In serial production, repeated patterns can provide valuable information not only about an individual component, but also about process stability. Hardness control after heat treatment is therefore more than: measurement β†’ tolerance check It is: heat treatment β†’ measurement β†’ hardness map β†’ analysis β†’ decision πŸ”œ In the next post: 10 key characteristics to consider when choosing a portable hardness tester. #hardnesstesting #heattreatment #qualitycontrol #ndt #metallurgy
    πŸ”Ή Not every thickness measurement is straightforwa πŸ”Ή Not every thickness measurement is straightforward. Large components, complex geometry, thin walls, curved surfaces, corrosion, different materials β€” each application can require a different approach. βš™οΈ The ADL-UT25 ultrasonic thickness gauge is designed to handle both routine inspections and more challenging measurement tasks. πŸ” In this carousel, we show several real application examples:
πŸ”Ή large and complex-shaped parts
πŸ”Ή aluminum and other alloys
πŸ”Ή PVC profiles
πŸ”Ή glass and porcelain
πŸ”Ή rough and corroded surfaces
πŸ”Ή thin-walled and curved components
πŸ”Ή localized wall thinning using B-Scan πŸ“Š With multiple measurement modes, A-Scan and B-Scan visualization, a wide measuring range and support for different transducers, ADL-UT25 can be adapted to a broad range of inspection tasks. πŸ’‘ Have a non-standard measurement application? Contact ADELIX specialists to discuss the task, select the appropriate transducer and configuration, or arrange a live demonstration. πŸ“ž +90 539 843 77 25 #adelixcompany #ADLUT25 #ultrasonictesting #thicknessgauge #thicknessmeasurement
