Universal hardness tester ADL DU 120 Mini

Universal hardness tester designed for measuring the hardness of metallic products. The device uses two methods of hardness measurement โ€“ ultrasonic and dynamic.

Universal hardness tester ADL-DU110

The ADL-DU110 hardness tester combines two hardness measurement methods: ultrasonic and dynamic. This makes the device a versatile and effective solution for input, inter-operational and output quality control of materials.

Portable dynamic hardness tester ADL-D100

Dynamic hardness tester ADL-D100 is specially designed for express-control of hardness of metal products. The ADL-D100 is a versatile solution for accurate portable hardness testing and can be a reliable tool in your claims work. Especially when situations arise when other devices do not provide sufficient accuracy when measuring the hardness of parts.

Benchtop automatic Vickers Hardness Tester ADL HV10/30/50

Benchtop automatic Vickers hardness tester ADL HV10/30/50 โ€“ Hardness measurement with Vickers method in the load range of 0.3-10 kgf / 2-30 kgf / 1-50 kgf. Automatic process tracing and hardness calculation.

What is a hardness tester?

A hardness tester is a device used to determine the hardness of a sample by non-destructive force on its surface. The aim is to provide quality control of raw materials, blanks and end products of production in the engineering, railway, energy and other sectors, as well as to provide the necessary data when developing new materials and structures.

The device and principle of operation of the hardness tester

The essence of the test using a hardness tester is the mechanical impact on the material or product, the subsequent removal of the necessary measurements and calculations based on the data obtained. To implement such work, the device is equipped with:

  • indent โ€“ a component designed for direct interaction with the control object (indentation, bump, scratch, etc.);
  • force sensor โ€“ registers the load;
  • Electronic filling โ€“ housing with control system, display of settings and measurement results.

This list includes only the main components of the device. It depends on the type of complex.

Classification of hardness testers

According to the working conditions, hardness testers are divided into fixed and portable. The first is distinguished by impressive dimensions, large weight, rich functionality, high measurement accuracy. Portable ones are very compact, light, sensitive enough and at the same time easy to use. They are easy to use in the field.

Research methods play a decisive role in dividing hardness testers into groups according to design. Therefore, their names are assigned to the respective device types. In particular, the popular and reliable Adelix fixed hardness testers for testing metals and alloys are divided into hardness testers:

  • ย Brinell. Equipped with a ball recess. Calculations take into account the depth and diameter of the pressure remaining on the sample after the indentation of this ball;
  • ย Vickers. The function of the recess in these devices is performed by a tetrahedral diamond pyramid. Calculations are performed by dividing the load used during indentation by the surface area of the resulting print;
  • ย Rockwell. Their configuration can have two ends โ€“ ball and cone-like. When determining hardness, they are guided by the depth of penetration of one of them into the material under the action of a certain force.

Portable hardness testers are divided into dynamic, ultrasonic, combined according to the methods used in their work. Devices of the second type, together with universal fixed ones, can work in different modes, as they are able to give results at various scales. This feature removes the restrictions on usage areas and contributes to the constant interest of consumers.

Rules for choosing a hardness tester for metals

Before you buy a hardness tester, you should decide on its type. To test soft metals, alloys and products made from them, devices operating according to the Brinell method are used. The properties of medium hard materials are checked using Rockwell instruments and very hard materials - Vickers.

If there are studies on different samples, then it is better to stop the choice on universal devices of a fixed type. It is also worth paying attention to:

  • ย The way the sensor communicates with the internal, wired and wireless inductor;
  • ย Quality and reliability of the load cell;
  • ย Load range;
  • ย The ability to connect to PC;
  • ย Convergence and repeatability of results.

To purchase a portable hardness tester, it is also worth deciding on the type. There are the following types of portable hardness testers:

  • Dynamic hardness tester ADL D100;
  • Universal hardness tester ADL DU110/combined type, combining two hardness measuring methods: ultrasonic and dynamic.

A portable hardness tester is used to quickly measure the hardness of metals, metals and non-metals, including surface-hardened layers (cementation, nitriding, HDTV hardening, etc.), galvanic coatings (chrome), surface coating, mechanical strength evaluation.

Information about these and other parameters of the hardness testers are indicated on the product cards.
